GHOSTED

Ghosting: abruptly ending communication with someone without explanation.

Ghost: a nebulous image of the dead appearing to the living.

We use the term of reconnection to describe disconnection.  They share in being unknown.  Devices mediate our relationships and change how we interact.  We disappear with ease, avoid conflict, intend insult, and communicate everything while saying nothing.  I have ghosted and been ghosted.  Sometimes it is an easy end, sometimes it gives me space to think and sort my thoughts, sometimes it is a wound.  I behave in ways that I would and could not in person. Do these interactions make us inauthentic or expand our repitoire of language and communication?
